Creative Control

Miscellaneous Mental Musings of an Emerging Artist

About

This is the Mark II blog for Creative Control, the online thought depository of Bilal Dardai. It replaces the previous blog that had been hosted at LiveJournal since 2001.

Bilal is an ensemble member and current co-Artistic Director of the Neo-Futurists Theatre Company in Chicago, where he has written and performed in their long-running late-night hit Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind since 2004. Bilal is also a playwright of works longer than the 2-minute pieces created for TML. Notable other plays include Contraption for The Neo-Futurists and The Man Who Was Thursday (Jeff Award nomination: Best New Work — Adaptation) for New Leaf Theatre. He is a staff writer for The Paper Machete, and an occasional contributor/contender for The Whole in 30 Days podcast and Write Club.

Bilal is an unrepentant lefty liberal progressive with little tolerance for fools in the political arena. He is also a proud gamer, geek, and father.

He maintains smaller versions of his larger thoughts at Twitter: @bilald. He may be contacted directly via email at bilald [at] gmail [dot] com.
